Ladoga Jan 1 - Word was received here this morning of the death of Everett Harshbarger, aged 24 son of Mr. and Mrs. George Harshbarger of this place. He had been in training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station for the past 7 weeks and took influenza two weeks ago. This later developed into pneumonia and death resulted at an early hour this morning. The deceased was born and reared in this vicinity and was one of the county's most popular and highly respected young men. He took an active interest in all local affairs. He was a member of the Masonic and Star Lodges and the Christian Church. He graduated from the Ladoga School in 1918, and later at Illinois University for two years but never graduated. Since that time he has been on his father's farm. The young man's father and other were called to his bedside .. Day and later the broth r... The body will arrive in Ladoga .. Thursday and the services will be announced at that time. Mr. Harshbarger is survived by his parents, one brother Earl (?) in Ft Wayne and one .. R. Dean Squires of Carlisle. - kbz
